Lockdown offered lots of cycling opportunities around Hertfordshire with regular short trips out and more recently longer day cycles. As soon as we could, we were off for a training weekend to Lincolnshire .... I hear you laugh...... “couldn’t have chosen a flatter county“ but the Wolds were hilly enough and the weekend gave us the chance to test out our camping equipment and be in the saddle for 5-6 hours each day.
So now to the task in hand......
Stage 2 of Lands End to John’o’groats.
10th-18th June 2021.
Whalley, near Preston, to Inverness. Around 450 miles but this time, camping en route. With the tandem, of course, you only have 2 panniers and one bag on top. With no support vehicle, what fits goes, and the rest stays behind. The route:
A very kind lady in Whalley Methodist Church has offered to have our car on her drive for 10 days and one of the campsites we booked have offered to publicise our trip on their social media feed ( whatever that means!) so everything’s coming together well.
