We met up with two other cyclists twice today and we all agreed it was very hard going mostly into a fresh breeze with occasional showers.
Interestingly we cycled past a signpost to “the unknown “. Can something be unknown if it’s signposted? We do philosophy on these rides you know.
But slow and steady does it and after 9 hours or so we managed our 50 miles or so that we need to put John O’Groats within reach tomorrow.
And we were rewarded later in the day by improving weather! The photo below is taken from our front door at 10:15pm - the photo doesn’t do the sunset justice.
Today we were sure we had spotted Golden Eagles, but a spoilsport person we told said they were just buzzards. But I have never seen a buzzard carry off a sheep - have you?
There is one downside of this camping spot … a herd of cows walking along the road towards us - we think they are doing the bovine equivalent of escaping as per the film Chicken Run.
Finally stephen is hopeful that he has fixed his leaky sleeping mat - so a happier nights sleep beckons.
Thanks again for reading and following.

Your companionship and endeavor's are a blessing
A future outcome that you dont know about until you get there
Your endurance is incredible. The joy awaiting you at the end will make up for the wet sleeping bag, the high winds, rain, midges and ticks. The sore legs will ease but the memories will be with you for life. God bless you both - and Happy House.
Nearly there! In awe of your journey. Amazing sights.
Beautiful pictures. Hope the tics are behaving themselves today. God speed you to your destination!
