Day 6. And I’m not even going to mention the ‘W’ word.

We have chomped up another 60 miles today, passing through Gloucestershire and into Worcestershire. Now settled in Droitwich Spa......aptly named!

Our morning started with a short trip along the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal tow path.

This canal, when built in 1827, was the deepest and widest in the world, allowing boats to avoid the tidal, loopy River Severn.

Next, we were looking back over Gloucester and heading for Tewkesbury.

We then found ourselves on the site of the ‘Forthampton Oaks’, the remains of an ancient Oak forest, sitting above Tewkesbury.

We are very thankful for safe journeys on some nasty wet roads. Enjoying the English countryside but think there’s definitely a business opportunity for coffee shops on this route!
