This morning we were treated to breakfast by Karen Baxter who played a key role in setting up the hostel in Nepal that we are raising funds for. Karen is now establishing a community farm at Dyke Nook to parter local churches in providing therapeutic opportunities for people.
After a short sprint along the A66 we had a glorious 60 miles in bright and sunny weather with lovely views over the Lake District as we traversed the Pennines. 60 miles today at an average of 7.5 mph was much slower than expected which could be the headwind or the weight of the camping gear or both. So we are going to have to start earlier! 80 miles tomorrow and a lot more “up” so we are on for a long day.
