Day 2 The toughest climb

We woke early confused by the short nights up here, dodged the local wildlife, and headed into the strong wind again for Bealach na Bà a winding single track road through the mountains with very tight hairpin bends that switch back and forth up the hillside and gradients that approach 1 in 5. It has the steepest ascent of any road climb in the UK!!

After a lot of effort there was a great view at the top that you can enjoy again with us if you click here

But generally we have been blessed with good weather and the view as we came down out of the clouds to see the sun shining on Skye was stupendous and literally had Susan in tears - it was either that or the relief that we could also see the end of our days cycling.

Hope this isn’t repetition! Thought we had posted but can’t see it! Fantastic achievement today - so well done especially up that mountain with a i in 5 gradient. You are doing so well and the picture of the deer was beautiful. What special dear people you both are doing this to raise money for such a worthwhile cause. God bless you both. Love J and M xx
